	"Why did I pick St. Basil’s Cathedral?" • I had to devise techniques for constructing such unusual architectural features as: • Nine unique onion-shaped domes each involving a different three-dimensional surface design. •The “kokoshniks”---overlapping courses of semi-circular decorative projections of corbelled brick. • Many components of the overall design that appear to be symmetrical, but are, in fact, only similar, tend to thwart most opportunities to use mass-production techniques in making the more than 6000 parts required for the model. The model is 22 inches high, at its highest point, and is on a base that measures 27 1/2 inches in diameter. continue
