David Shapleigh May 8, 1927 - July 19, 1999

David Shapleigh was born May 8, 1927 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut. He was a graduate of Harvard University and also earned a graduate degree from the Yale University Divinity School. After serving for five years as Associate Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Old Greenwich, Connecticut he began a career in banking, in 1962. He received his MBA in banking from New York University and in 1978 became Vice President and Division Manager of Chase Manhattan Bank, in charge of Financial Management and Control for the Banks Corporate Trust Services. He served for 11 years in this capacity until he took early retirement.
David became aware that he had ParkinsonŐs Disease late in his fifties. His daily commute was 2 hours door to door. He therefore decided to forego medication until he took early retirement. During this time he contemplated just what he would do with his time.

And so this story begins......
